The hidden details that keep your roof watertight for decades.
Poor leadwork is one of the most common causes of water ingress in older and period homes. Flashings seal the critical junctions between the roof covering and vertical surfaces — chimney stacks, parapet walls, skylights, and dormer walls. When lead fails, the damage can be extensive and expensive.
M3 Roofing carries out all types of leadwork to the CITB Lead Sheet Association standard. We use only high-quality Code 4 and Code 5 milled lead sheet, cut and dressed on site for a perfect, weathertight finish that should last 50+ years.
Incorrectly installed lead — for example, not allowing for thermal movement, using undersized code, or missing soakers — will fail within a few years. M3 Roofing's leadwork is done to LDA (Lead Sheet Association) specifications, with full allowance for expansion and proper stepped flashing techniques where appropriate. Every job is checked before we leave site.
